Alongside my Sociology degree, I was lucky enough to do some volunteer work with the Freedom from Torture charity’s York group, as well as being Project Coordinator for the student accessible magazine. These projects fueled my love for research and writing and inspired me to start my blog.

I was working in hospitality over the summer, feeling a bit bored and that I was lacking something. I thought about starting a blog, wrote so many articles in the notes app on my phone and eventually took the plunge. It was a basic, free WordPress account, but it was my first project, and I have loved taking the time to research and write about so many different things. Blogging was a big part of the three months of travelling that I did, and I am glad that I can look back, read through, and remember everything that we did. 

For my 22nd birthday, my lovely boyfriend created a Squarespace website for me to take my blogs to the next level! We have been working hard on formatting it and bringing everything together. Eventually, Bee’s Hive of Thoughts was born!
